Defoamers
Foam is a major nuisance during sugar production, unregulated foam levels can result in lower production rates, unsafe working environment, and even production shut down. ICS has developed together with its customers defoamers for different applications and conditions. Our defoamers for washing and transport water are frost resistant, non-sensitive to pH changes, and will remain in the recirculating water for prolong periods. ICS defoamers for sugar extraction exhibiting high performance at target temperatures ranging 40-90 Celsius, not sensitive to hydrolysis and will maintain effective through the entire process. All of ICS defoamers comply to latest EU and US regulation and are Kosher (also for Passover) and HALAL certified.

Natural microbial control
Sugar sanitation is an important cretiria in the manufacturing process. Certain bacteria (Leuconostoc species) can lead to loss of sucrose in the juice by inversion, slime formation, and bad odor impacting final product quality. ICS all natural biocide-replacement for sugar processing, CD221 shows excellent lactic acid, dextran and nitrite control. By replacing toxic conventional biocides, CD221 enables user to process by-products for animal feed and yeast fermentation.

Scale Inhibitors
At the sugar industry process equipment scaling and under deposit corrosion are serious problems of sugar plants especially at the evaporators. Heavy scaling occurs all along the evaporation line where the thin juice must be concentrated before crystallization. Without any treatment scaling is responsible for progressively dropping the production capacity and increasing the manufacturing costs and the demand of energy. At the final stage the sugar mill must be shut down for cleaning. Scale inhibitors are necessary to inhibit the deposition taking place in the different evaporators’ bodies. ICS scale inhibitors are particularly recommended in beets sugar mills whenever the scale formed is mainly based on calcium carbonate, calcium oxalate and calcium sulfate. Optimization of the treatment with ICS scale inhibitors is generally reached by injecting the product in different injection points of the evaporation bodies.

Viscosity reducers
Used as a pan aid to reduce surface tension of viscous materials like massecuite. ICS polyol technology is designed to enhance the exhaustibility of massecuite and increase circulation of low grade massecuite, resulting in greater fluidity and reduces the boiling time. ICS products improve boiling efficiency, crystallization, centrifugation and exhaustion of molasses hence facilitating improved sugar crystals and sugar recovery.
