The generation of foam during fermentation processes is caused by the existence of foam-active substances in the fermentation broth, escaping gas/air and turbulences within the fermenter. Defoamers must be low dosage, non toxic to microorganism and stable during sterilization. In addition, all defoamers offered by Metalub are Kosher and Halal certified and are approved by FDA 173.340.
